How infrared wavelength play a role in heating process ?
A Polish customer asked us recently “do you have NIR lamps? If yes,please define the wavelength of the lamp.”
In the later communications,we learned thatthey need IR heater lamps at wavelength 0,8–1,5 µm.
They come from PET bottle blowing industry and have high requests for IR heating lamps including precise wavelength, efficient heating and color temperature.
We prepared samples and did tests based on the client’s application and demands.

Out of rigor and ensuring the accurate data , our technicians also tested the performance at different power output, here are the results.

It can be seen that the wavelength of our IR lamps always remains between 1060-1200nm (1.06-1.2um) during tests, which fully meets the customer's requirement of 0.8-1.5um.
They were very satisfied with the lamps’ performance and made the business happen.
Why does the Polish customer insist on IR lamps with wavelengths at 0.8-1.5um? What is the significance of matching wavelengths between IR lamps and heated objects?
All for high efficiency and energy saving.
1. Efficient
Objects can only absorb radiation that meets certain wavelength conditions, and infrared heat energy outside the wavelength absorption range will be wasted. Therefore, only when the wavelength of the infrared emitters matches the wavelength of the material to be heated, the heating energy it generates can be absorbed by the molecules of the material. In this process, the heating rate is extremely fast without being hindered by the surface layer of the material. In a short, the wavelength of the heated material itself is fixed, and wecan onlyadjust the wavelength of the infrared lampsto realize the matching. And the higher the matching degree between IR lamps and heated material, the more heat energy generated can be absorbed, so as to achieve efficient heating.
2. Energy saving
For PET bottle blowing equipment, short-wave infrared lamps are mainly used, which can penetrate the surface of the material and ensure uniform heating. The response time of the short-wave infrared heating lamp is extremely fast, and it can achieve full power output in just one second, it can quickly meet the temperature requirements. PET bottles can quickly enter the next production process after being heated.
