Short-wave infrared radiation heaters have high heating power. Short wave lamps are particularly well-suited for processes that require quick start-up and shut-off since they achieve their full operating efficiency within seconds.   

Infrared heating is a kind of radiation heating. It spreads by a kind of infrared radiation (light)-- infrared light from material in the form of molecular (atomic) resonance absorption, so as to achieve the purpose of heating. It can be applied in many fields such as the heating process of industry coating, plastic forming, automotive industry, glass making, spinning, solar PV, food baking, drying of printing inks, quick drying of primer and paint on furniture, printed circuit, and so forth.

Carbon infrared heaters have heating elements made from woven carbon fibers which are housed in quartz. They operate at around 1,200C and emit medium wave length radiation,it dries water-based coatings more efficiently than short-wave infrared radiators.

Medium wave infrared heaters produce infrared waves of around 2.6-3.5um and operate at 500 – 1,300C degree. Because of their long life, medium wave quartz infrared heaters perform extremely well in continuous processes. Also it is slower in response to changes in process requirement as compared to the short-wavelength lamps and are slower to heat up and cool down.
