Fast response medium wave infrared emitters have same product processing as short wave infrared lamps, made up from coiled tungsten filament and surrounded by a quartz glass and kinds of halogen gas. It belongs to vacuum lamp. It can be made into single round tube and twin tubes based on the working situation.

Short-Wave Infrared emitters produce infrared waves of around 0.75 – 1.4 microns in wavelength and operate at high temperatures above 1,300 – 2,6000C. Since these wavelengths have higher frequencies, they tend to be more transmissive and reflective.The high efficiency of this technique, however, not only follows from the absorption properties of the materials to be heated, but also in conjunction with the atmosphere.

Because of their long life, medium wave quartz infrared heaters perform extremely well in continuous processes. Also it is slower in response to changes in process requirement as compared to the short-wavelength lamps and are slower to heat up and cool down.
